Does this one have an Altec connection?

Saw this on ePay and was just curious to know if there was a Jensen / Altec connect.

None that I know of. Early on Jensen built some nice bigger stuff.

IPC marketed both Altec and Jensen equipment. Jensen was pretty much out of the theater market by the '50's.

Ampex, RCA and others competed for a while. BY the sixties Altec pretty much owned the theater market. Pretty much the same with recording studiois. There were still some JBL's in studios and theaters, but way more Altec. Altec's financial problems inherited from Ling hampered them when Pro Sound blew up in the 70's. You prolly know it from there.

??? That's not a multicell. It's a bunch of small horns.
I suspect no big engineering feat- just take a half dozen of your light duty Hi-Fi components, and parallel them in an attempt to make a heavier duty component.

Generally, horizontally plced arrays suffer from comb filtering. Vertical arrays are preferred.

I suspect this was on the tail end of Jensen's big stuff.
